Betty Keller, MD, has been until March 2021 chair of the Education and Advocacy Work Group for One Payer States. She is President of the Vermont Chapter of PNHP and is a leader in the Vermont League of Women Voters’ Health Care Caucus. That group teaches folks why our current health care system is a disaster for our health and our economy and how we can fix it. She would love to hear your ideas and what skills you can share to help in that goal.
She is a Christian who believes that we are all one, so to be healthy, we need all our brothers and sisters to be healthy. She helps run a summer internship for medical students to learn about policy and develop advocacy and leadership skills: pnhp.org/nne2020. And it has become her belief that, when so many people want us to use our tax dollars more wisely and fund our health care with taxes like we do our roads and police, but we still don’t, then there is something deeply wrong with our democracy. So she is active with the League of Women Voters, as well.
