Education and Advocacy WG
Plans, organizes, and implements actions and events to inform and mobilize the public in health care reform. Activities include OPS Office Hours, 3rd Friday educational presentations, and distribution of literature to audiences beyond OPS Advocates. 2nd Thursdays 8-9 p.m. ET (5-6 p.m. PT). Register HERE.
Fosters relationships and joint actions with other health justice and health care justice communities, e.g., PNHP, HealthcareNow!, Social Security Works, NAACP, state-based health care for all groups, faith-based groups, Poor Peoples’ Campaign, League of Women Voters, business organizations. 4th Mondays 4-5 p.m. ET (7-8 p.m. PT). Creates specific messaging guidelines and templates to build support for our mission among advocates and the general public, e.g., young, business, retirees, unions, conservatives. Projects include a monthly newsletter, website, news media, social media, and letters to the editor.4th Wednesdays 5-6 p.m. ET (2-3 p.m. PT). Register HERE.
Develops, clarifies, and communicates optimal policies for single-payer proposals, to be shared with OPS Advocates, partners, and legislators. 4th Fridays: noon-1 p.m. ET (9-10 a.m. PT). Register HERE.
Organization and Development WG
Creates plans for sustainability and growth of OPS. Compiles and recommends an annual budget to support OPS education and advocacy activities. Proposes budget modifications as needed.
